Business leaders criticise immigration crackdown

Business leaders have criticised government plans to crack down on foreign workers as it looks to reduce net migration to sustainable levels.

Businesses will not welcome further restrictions on high-skilled migration from key trading partners, CBI deputy director-general Josh Hardie said.

Seamus Nevin, head of employment and skills policy at the Institute of Directors, said the UK had record employment, so immigration was not hurting jobs.
