A campaign to build 50,000 homes by 2020 and encourage the next mayor of London to tackle the housing crisis has been launched by business leaders.
The campaign, led by London First, wants the next mayor to have credible housing policies to ensure London can accommodate its growing workforce.
A study by the Centre for Economics and Business Research assessed the pressure of high living costs being put on London workers in different sectors.
At the campaign’s launch at the Foundling Museum, WC1, this week, Angus Knowles-Cutler, senior partner at Deloitte, said his company was considering buying property to house its young staff after a survey found that 86% of the firm’s graduate intake would like help with renting in the capital.
