An analysis of properties on Airbnb by the Residential Landlords Association suggests landlords are increasingly using the site to offer what were long-term rental properties.
Over 50% of listings in Edinburgh, London and Manchester are for whole flats or houses, and half of those are by people with more than one listing on the site.
The number of whole London properties listed on the site has risen by 25% over the last six months, potentially removing as many as 4,250 homes from the long-term rental market.
