Buyers’ market as Property Franchise Group gears up for deals

The Property Franchise Group is on the hunt for acquisitions as the UK’s housing market starts its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The group, which owns several estate agency brands that it franchises, posted stable revenues of £5.4m during the six months to 30 June. Profit was stable too, at £2m.

Chief executive Gareth Samples said the company’s letting and sales divisions generated record activity during July and that the group is “focused on maximising the opportunities that the market currently presents”.

Samples added that the company is looking for sizeable acquisitions of rival franchises, as well as encouraging its franchisees to buy the letting books from their own local rivals.

“We continue to offer support to any franchisee looking to execute on an acquisition and believe there may be increasing numbers of potential opportunities in the current market environment,” he said.
