Buys for Glentree and Nationwide

USM-quoted Glentree Estates have reached a conditional agreement to buy north London agents Goldschmidt Howland Cassells in a deal worth £1.65m.

The deal involves £663,000 in cash plus 1.36m new Glentree shares. News of the acquisition sent Glentree shares up 5p to 165p.

Goldschmidt have two offices, in Islington and Hampstead.

Meanwhile, Slades, part of Nationwide Estate Agency, have acquired the Surrey firm of Batchelors, who have existing offices in Caterham and Godstone and a proposed new office in Edenbridge.

With this purchase the Slades network in south-east Surrey and north-west Kent extends to 16 branches, while the Nationwide’s now totals 376 outlets.
