C&W appoints City occupier head

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed James Meikle to head its occupier team in the City and Canary Wharf.

Meikle joins from the London markets division of the company’s EMEA corporate occupier and investor services team, which he joined last year following a stint heading C&W’s operations in Milan.

He will help advise C&W’s client base in the City and Canary Wharf, which includes JP Morgan, Thomson Reuters, Standard Bank, Old Mutual and Nasdaq.

Meikle will also retain responsibility for existing pan-European clients and will continue to provide UK-wide advice to Ernst & Young.

C&W has made a succession of recent appointments to its London occupier team, which is headed by George Roberts.

Roberts said: “In line with our strategic growth plan, we have been steadily and successfully building our presence in London to be on a par with our leading position in New York and other major cities. Despite the tough economic climate, we continue to see strong demand for our services from occupier clients across all sectors and areas of London.

“We look forward to having James on board to help drive the growth of our occupier business in the City and Docklands.”

Other recent high-profile appointments at C&W include Digby Flower as head London Markets and Andrew Parker as head of city agency.
