Cushman & Wakefield has poached a BNP Paribas director to become its new head of portfolio valuation.
David Mills has joined the privately-owned real estate services firm as a partner and will work closely with Rupert Dodson, C&W’s UK chairman and global co-head of valuation & advisory, and David Lusher, chief executive valuation & advisory UK.
Mills had been a director in BNP PRE’s portfolio valuation practice since 2006, advising on several £1bn-plus commercial property portfolios including NFU Mutual, British Airways Pension Fund and Royal London Asset Management.
C&W’s 75-strong UK valuation & advisory team currently holds 60 regular portfolio valuation mandates, comprising 2,000 properties with a total value of more than £50bn.
Lusher said: “We believe the market cycle is now at the right point to invest strongly in growing our existing portfolio valuation business, reinforcing our best-in-class valuation & advisory service offering.
“David is a highly motivated and ambitious professional and comes to us with a wealth of contacts, knowledge and expertise in portfolio valuation. We look forward to working with David in the near future as we look to grow the business even further.”
