Cadogan hires former BL retail lead

British Land’s former head of central London retail Claire Barber is to join Cadogan Estates as asset management director.

Barber spent almost 13 years at British Land, focusing on retail asset management and development, most recently leading on the redevelopment of Meadowhall in Sheffield.

She joins the 300-year-old estate to manage the retail and leisure portfolio in the 93-acre estate around Chelsea and Knightsbridge.

Hugh Seaborn, chief executive of Cadogan, said: “Claire has a real depth of retail experience leading a range of projects across development, leasing and asset management.

“She will undoubtedly play a significant part in amplifying Chelsea’s reputation as one of London’s leading locations to work, live and visit.”
