Cadogan has appointed former Crown Estate boss Dame Alison Nimmo to its board.
The Chelsea estate said that Nimmo would help it fulfil its Chelsea 2030 strategy.
Since her earliest role in the industry – as a planning officer in Westminster in the late 1980s – Nimmo has racked up more than 30 years of experience, helping to deliver the award-winning “big build” for the London 2012 Olympic Games and leading city-centre regeneration projects in Sheffield and Manchester. She stepped down as chief executive of The Crown Estate in 2019.
Nimmo is currently a non-executive director advising the UK government and a member of Imperial College London’s property committee. She previously held non-executive roles at Berkeley Group and St Modwen Properties, as well as being chair of the CBI’s economic growth board and a trustee and COP26 ambassador for the UK Green Building Council.
She was awarded a DBE for public services and services to the exchequer in 2019.
Cadogan chief executive Hugh Seaborn said: “We are delighted that Alison has joined the board. She brings an impressive track record in real estate and an understanding of our values as a truly purpose-driven business – our objective is to strengthen Chelsea’s character and community, ensuring it is more vital and thriving as each decade passes. Alison’s wealth of experience and insight will be valuable as we progress the Chelsea 2030 stewardship strategy and steer the neighbourhood’s resilience and enduring contribution towards a more sustainable future.”
Chelsea 2030 was launched last summer and sets out how Chelsea can significantly reduce its environmental impact, support its communities and improve climate resilience.
