Cadogan unveils reopening plans

Cadogan Estates has unveiled a series of measures put in place across its 93-acre Kensington and Chelsea estate in preparation for the reopening of non-essential retail from 15 June.

One-way systems for shops, organised circulation of the Duke of York Square and the pedestrianisation of Pavilion Road, SW1, will enable people to move around safely in addition to the use of signage on pathways, in stores and benches.

Hand sanitiser stations have also been installed and some shops are providing appointment-only slots along with kerbside collections.

Hugh Seaborn, chief executive of Cadogan, said: “Public safety remains our number one priority as we work actively with retailers and other occupiers to reopen the area for business soon.

“Chelsea is a residential neighbourhood with a strong local identity and, as such, relies less on tourism or travel providing a solid platform from which to start reopening safely and sustainably.

“I am confident that as people increasingly venture out, they will value what they have locally more than ever.”
