Cafe closure concerns as Costa Coffee makes cuts

Costa Coffee has said it has no plans to close cafes as it cuts 1,650 staff.

Britain’s biggest coffee shop operator, which is now owned by Coca-Cola, said: “In terms of store closures, we open new stores, renovate stores and close stores throughout the year as part of our operating business.”

Costa has more than 2,700 shops in the UK, including 1,600 wholly owned cafes.
