Stamp duty needs to be cut if the Conservatives are to win the next election, Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg says.
Rees-Mogg, who dismissed claims he is seeking to become the next leader of the Conservative party, also called on the government to replace tower blocks with houses that could be sold to residents at a discount.
Alex Morton, a former housing and planning advisor to Downing Street, also wants stamp duty to be lowered and is calling for a 2% across the board cut.
