Cambridge office plans submitted

Plans have been submitted on behalf of Brookgate for a new 182,000 sq ft office in Cambridge.

In order to deliver the new building, 32-38 Station Road will be demolished and the new eight storey office will be renamed 50 Station Road and 60 Station Road.

The scheme will also deliver 5,800 sq ft of restaurant and retail space.

Outline planning for the scheme has already been granted, however, the new application makes amendments, increasing the floorplate size to meet growing occupier demand.

Office space is at a premium in Cambridge due to the large amount of stock taken out of the market by the influx of biotech occupiers.

The location of the two new Station Road developments has been designated by the local plan as an Area of Major Change in order to capitalise on the improved transport interchange planned for the station.
