The London Borough of Camden has resolved to grant planning permission for Allied London and Aerium’s mixed-use redevelopment of the former Daily Mirror printing HQ at Herbal House, 10 Back Hill, EC1.
The 120,000 sq ft block covers 10 floors and will be refurbished to offer flexible workspace.
Allied London chief executive Michael Ingall said: “Herbal House offers an extremely rare opportunity in the centre of London, both in terms of scale and quality, to create some of the best new workspace and retail facilities in the area.
“We believe that Herbal House can offer occupiers a unique experience; not just a place to go to work, but a place where ideas and creativity can flow, a place where there’s a real and defined culture to the building.
“Our careful market research tells us that modern businesses are evolving and have different needs to what they once had. Herbal House addresses this fact and will provide the modern, customisable space that fast-paced emerging and corporate businesses desire.”
Aerium Finance fund manager Robin Carr said: “This highly sought-after location offers a hub for creative industries, it’s a culturally rich area with huge future potential and we want to bring this iconic building back to life.”
