The South Hams Society is campaigning for the area in Devon to be given National Park status.
That would severely limit home-building in the 350 sq miles stretching from Plymouth to Torbay, and could also affect any extensions to existing homes.
The South Hams area is highly sought after, and the supply of affordable housing is extremely tight.
