Canadians to buy German assets

A group of lenders led by French bank Société Générale is financing the purchase of 300 German properties by Canadian investor Dundee International Real Estate Investment Trust.

The assets are mainly let to German mail group Deutsche Post.

DekaBank, CorealCredit Bank AG and Deutsche Postbank also financed the acquisition by the Toronto-based REIT, which targets commercial real estate outside Canada.

Both the investment and the financing were closed at the same time as a Dundee IPO, which was the largest in the Canadian property market in the past two years.
