Canary Wharf Group poaches iQ Student CFO

iQ Student Accommodation’s Rebecca Worthington is to join Canary Wharf Group as chief financial officer.

Worthington has been CFO at iQ since September 2019. She will join CWG in May 2021, succeeding Russell Lyons who will retire next year. She will step down from her non-executive director role at British Land on 31 December.

Worthington was previously CFO and then group chief operating officer at Countryside between 2015 and 2019, and was involved in listing the business in 2016. Prior to that she spent 15 years at Quintain Estates and was founder and chief executive of Lodestone Capital Partners.

Worthington qualified as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and has over 20 years of experience in finance, with extensive knowledge of the real estate market.
