Candy’s luxury resi scheme up for grabs

Christian Candy’s CPC Group has put a Holland Park mansion block up for sale.

The company has instructed Savills and Knight Frank to sell Duke’s Lodge, 80 Holland Park, W11 – a luxury residential development opportunity – for offers in excess of £75m.

The proposed development is ready to commence immediately with consent for 24 private flats behind a façade of five townhouses, after CPC Group won a planning appeal last year.

Plans include 23 underground car parking spaces, concierge, gym and a 17m swimming pool.

The development requires demolition of the existing property, a 1930s block of 27 flats, which CPC Group bought in 2013 for close to £50m. It later submitted plans for the scheme which were rejected in early 2015 owing to concerns over the size of the basements.

The planning inspectorate overturned the decision, maintaining the size of the basements, which go as deep as 17m. Consent is subject to an affordable housing contribution of £6.5m.
