Capital & Counties has appointed Demetra Pinsent as a non-executive director, with effect from 1 May 2012.
Pinsent will also be appointed to the developer and investor’s nomination and corporate responsibility committees at the same time.
A statement from the firm, which owns Covent Garden and Earls Court, said that Pinsent is a former partner of McKinsey & Co and has led McKinsey’s European apparel, fashion and luxury goods practice for the past five years.
Her work “counselling leading high street, aspirational and luxury retailers and brands” has covered a wide range of strategic, operational and organisational issues, including helping retailers to optimise their property portfolios.
It added that Pinsent has also advised on a number of bids for international sporting events, focusing on their legacy and sponsorship strategies, and also on the regeneration of communities through investment in public places.
Outside McKinsey, Pinsent has acted as an adviser to emerging British luxury businesses.
Capco chairman Ian Durant said: “I am delighted that Lady Pinsent will be joining the board of Capco. Her extensive luxury retail experience and understanding of brand creation, the realisation of retail destinations and business strategy will be of considerable benefit to the company”.
