Capita appoints finance pair

Capita-logo-THUMB.gifFINANCE: Services giant Capita has broken into the real estate finance market with the appointment of two industry veterans to its lending team.

James Wright and Tracey Folkes will focus on originating senior, mezzanine and junior loans for acquisitions, restructurings, refinancing and developments.

Wright joins from CBRE Debt & Structured Finance where he was an originator and distributor for the loans platform. Prior to this he was part of the UK property team at Anglo Irish Bank before it became part of IBRC.

Folkes has been with Capita since 2009 and joined when Capita took control of Capmark’s European business. Since that time she has been in the loan work-out team servicing the CMBS and balance sheet loans that Capita inherited.

Prior to Capita Folkes was with Dawnay Property Finance. There she sourced and secured debt on behalf of the business and individual investors.

Wright said: “Capita’s position as the largest independent servicer of real estate secured loans in Europe means that it is uniquely placed to assist clients in sourcing and arranging large, complex and highly structured financial solutions.

“With such a broad range availability in the real estate finance market at present and a large wave of new market entrants over the past 18 months, it is more important than ever for borrowers to navigate the lender landscape effectively in order to attain optimal financing terms. Tracey and I will be enable our clients to do just that, establishing long-term mutually beneficial relationships.”
