Manchester-based property developer Capital & Centric has won planning permission to build a £15m supermarket and manufacturing facility in Barnoldswick, Lancashire.
Pendle council has approved plans for a 36,000 sq ft food store and a 37,700 sq ft manufacturing facility, which will be occupied by joint venture partner Albert Hartley Home Textiles.
The scheme also has 223 car parking spaces and public space linking to adjacent Victory Park.
Capital & Centric expects to start on site next spring.
Capital & Centric was one of three foodstore applications considered by the local planning committee. It resolved to refuse the other two applications for a 37,000 sq ft Tesco superstore and a 15,000 sq ft Aldi.
Adam Higgins, director at Capital & Centric, said: “Barnoldswick does not yet have a modern foodstore, and most of the operators have been vying to secure a site in the town for many years. Not surprisingly, we’ve had a few calls this morning from operators and agents.”
