Cardiff Gate Business Park poised for major expansion

Cardiff Gate Business Park owners PMH and Robert McAlpine are mulling over a speculative 182,000 sq ft (16,908 sq m) office building expansion.

Eight buildings are being considered, varying in size from 9,500 sq ft (882 sq m) to 65,500 sq ft (6,086 sq m). The move will increase the size of the M4 estate by 60%.

The park has already given the green light to a speculative 24,285 sq ft (2,256 sq m) building, which will be built next year.

If the building is let successfully, more speculative phases will follow.

It follows the recent letting of 32,000 sq ft (3,012 sq m) space at the park to US telecoms newcomer The Number.

Tony Fletcher, managing director of Cardiff Gate Business Park, said plans for growth reflected underlying confidence in the South Wales market.

Fletcher Morgan and Alder King are the scheme’s joint agents.

Occupiers at the park include Coca Cola, Scottish and Southern Energy, International Baccalaureate Organization, HBoS Card Services and Redrow Homes.
