Carillion Energy Services has signed video game company Ubisoft to take 30,000 sq ft in Partnership House, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Reflections, a Ubisoft video game developer, will create a computer games studio on the third and fifth floors of the building, with space for 250 staff.
The take-up follows Ubisoft’s opening of a 17,000 sq ft consumer relationship centre in September 2015 at The Hub, Haymarket, Newcastle, which handles the company’s interactions with gamers across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Digital economy minister Ed Vaizey said Ubisoft’s long-term plans were “testament to the wealth of talent in the North East”.
Bilfinger GVA acted for Ubisoft; Sanderson Weatherall represented Carillion Energy Services.
