Defence Estates, the property arm of the Ministry of Defence, today confirmed that it had chosen CarillionEnterprise for a £550m contract to manage buildings across England and Wales.
CarillionEnterprise was selected as preferred bidder for the MoD’s Central Regional Prime Contract ahead of Amec, Balfour Beatty and Bovis Lend Lease in May of this year.
The seven-year deal covers the delivery of works and maintenance of property at around 80 MoD sites in Wales, the West Midlands, North East and North West England, and Yorkshire and the Humber.
The MoD is expected to make a decision shortly on its preferred bidder for the £100m Project MoDEL shortly.
St Modwen/Vinci and Land Securities Trillium are the two parties left in the race. The project involves a major redevelopment at the MOD’s RAF Northolt base, to be funded by the sale of four other north-west London sites.
