Carisbrooke agrees deal for megashed site

Carisbrooke has signed an option agreement to purchase the freehold interest of a 91-acre industrial development site in Stanton, Suffolk, which has planning permission for a 1.24m sq ft shed.

Located between the Shepherds Grove Industrial Estate East and Shepherds Grove Industrial Estate West, the site has consent, which was obtained by IKEA, for a megashed.

Carisbrooke has appointed Savills and Gerald Eve to advise on the site.

Nic Rumsey, director at Carisbrooke, said: “This site holds superb potential. It offers the opportunity to take advantage of the planning consent already in place for a warehouse unit or divide up the area to create multiple facilities.”

Richard Sullivan, industrial director at Savills, added: “This site represents one of only a handful in the South East of the UK that holds planning for a single building of this magnitude, making it a very unique and appealing opportunity.”
