Plans by Carlyle Group for a 1.4m sq ft mixed-use scheme on London’s South Bank, SE1, have been recommended for approval.
Southwark council planners have recommended the PLP Architecture-designed scheme is given the green light at a committee meeting on 8 October.
Redevelopment proposals for Sampson House and Ludgate House , include 489 flats, 450,000 sq ft of offices, 25,000 sq ft of shops, 18,500 sq ft of cultural space and a 16,250 sq ft public square. The plans call for nine buildings.
A Carlyle Group spokesman said: “We are now looking ahead to next week, when we hope that the members of the strategic planning committee follow their officers’ lead and support the redevelopment to transform this under-used section of the South Bank into a vibrant new community and create around 3,700 jobs.”
