Carpetright is determined to open a new Tottenham store to replace the one wrecked in the riots.
The company said whether the destroyed London store would be rebuilt was up to the landlord. Croydon furniture retailer House of Reeve, which was destroyed by fire, has opened a smaller outlet. The Mail on Sunday described how many areas with buildings reduced to rubble or razed are returning to a semblance of normality.
