Keele University has appointed Carter Jonas as the leasing agent for its new science innovation park in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The 13,000 sq ft Innovation Centre Seven facility is expected to serve SME digital technology occupiers.
Innovation Centre Seven features a data visualisation suite, an augmented/virtual reality suite, office space and meeting and collaboration areas. The facility, which has a BREEAM Excellent rating, is powered by Keele’s on-site low-carbon energy generation park.
As part of the remit, Carter Jonas will also oversee leasing activity across the park’s further 11 innovation facilities.
Matt Lee, head of science and technology at Carter Jonas, said: “Innovation Centre Seven is a prime example of the university’s commitment to providing the very best facilities for businesses, having been designed to support a significant uptake in the use of advanced data analytics by SMEs in the region and to leverage Keele’s distinctive expertise in this field.”
Ann Pittard, director of Keele University Science & Innovation Park, said: “Keele’s Science & Innovation Park has grown to become an innovation hub, with 1,000 staff working across more than 50 businesses, and collectively they provide £75m in gross value added to the West Midlands economy, supporting more than 1,600 jobs in the region.”
