Carter Jonas is set to enhance its focus on infrastructure as it looks outside of England for new offices.
The consultancy plans to open its first office in Scotland early next year and is actively recruiting for its Edinburgh team. The firm will also establish a presence in Swansea to service infrastructure contracts in west Wales.
The expansion comes as Carter Jonas prepares to embark on a five-year strategic plan, effective from May next year. As part of the strategic shift, the firm’s existing infrastructure, energy, marine, and geospatial teams, which currently form a part of its rural division, will separate to create a dedicated infrastructure division.
Mark Hall-Digweed (pictured), head of infrastructure at Carter Jonas, will lead this newly formed division. He has been with the firm for almost 24 years.
Under his leadership, the infrastructure team has grown to match the size of the firm’s other key divisions, including commercial, planning and development, residential, and rural.
Carter Jonas chief executive Richard Bruce said: “The growth of our infrastructure services underscores the collective commitment and complementary expertise of our rural and infrastructure teams and represents a true success story for our business.
“Over the past 15 years, both have collaborated to support the expansion of rural service lines and our infrastructure capabilities. This development will be instrumental in the progression of both key areas, in line with the next stage of our strategic plan, and it is a pleasure to welcome Mark to our board.”
