Carter Jonas has appointed former WeWork director Rohan Shiram as its new head of sustainability.
Shiram was previously interim director of energy, sustainability and social impact for the EMEA and APAC regions at WeWork. He held the role for 10 months.
Before he joined WeWork in September last year, Shiram worked at sustainable tech firm IES as a senior professional, leading its energy and sustainability services within the building operations, asset management and project management teams. He has also previously worked at Centrica and energy consultancy Metropolis Planning and Design.
He will be based at Carter Jonas’s headquarters at One Chapel Place, W1. In his new role, Shiram will be responsible for the implementation and performance of the company’s overarching ESG policy and sustainability targets.
He will also help develop the firm’s range of sustainability and ESG services, and find new ways of supporting client mandates to deliver on their sustainability commitments.
Iain Mulvey, head of business development at Carter Jonas, said: “Rohan’s appointment further demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our contribution to a sustainable future, driving significant change across the property industry and the sectors in which we operate.
“His focus and knowledge of the market will accelerate the implementation and delivery of our own operational targets and significantly strengthen our service offer across all asset classes and client areas, helping us achieve innovative, sustainable solutions.”
