Catalent assigns Deeside leases

US pharmaceuticals company Catalent has agreed deals with two occupiers to assign its lease at a 127,721 sq ft distribution facility in Deeside, north Wales.

Biotechnology firm ADC has agreed to let 70,248 sq ft at unit 103 on the Deeside industrial estate and ready-meal company KK Fine Foods has acquired unit 107, currently a 57,533 sq ft pharmaceutical testing facility. Catalent has surrendered its lease at both buildings. The company first announced plans to close its Deeside facility in 2015 and said it planned to consolidate clinical trial packaging and distribution services into its larger European sites in Bolton and Bathgate in the UK and Schorndorf in Germany. Catalent vacated the buildings in May 2017.

Cushman & Wakefield advised Catalent. Rees Straw Chartered Surveyors represented ADC. Cushman & Wakefield acted for KK Fine Foods in its purchase of unit 107.
