Cathedral to refit Bromley town hall

Cathedral Hotels’ plans to refurbish Bromley Old Town Hall, in greater London, into a 94-bedroom hotel have been approved.

The London borough of Bromley has given permission for the boutique hotel, which will see the original grade II-listed building be fully restored.

The project will include a hotel, restaurant, conference and events space, and a courtyard garden.

The project is estimated to cost around £20m, and 53 flats will be developed on the adjacent site.

Jeremy Wall, head of hotels, Cathedral Group, said: “We care about the contribution we can make to regeneration and we care about attracting a whole new generation of customers back into our high streets.”

The project is expected to start in the second half of 2016, with an opening later in 2017.
