The Confederation of British Industry is to survey the level of boardroom anger at the Higgs report’s recommendations on the role of non-executive directors.
The CBI will ask all FTSE 100 chairmen for their views on the recommendations over the next week after some business leaders raised strong opposition to the report.
CBI director-general Digby Jones said that while the report overall was supported by business Higgs’ proposal for the extension of the role of the senior non-executive director could be “divisive”.
