CBRE and JLL shares slide amid gloomy US economic news

Shares in CB Richard Ellis and Jones Lang LaSalle fell sharply last night amid further gloomy economic news in the US.

On the New York Stock Exchange, CBRE dropped 11.8% to $3.60 (£2.36)and JLL fell 5.3% to $25.35 (£16.63).

The Dow Jones dipped 65 points to 8,564.53 after the US’s Empire State index signalled that the manufacturing sector was shrinking.

The news came on top of weak employment data and weak earnings data as well as expectations that earnings are going to continue to be fragile.

Shares in investment bank JPMorgan fell 7.5% after a note from Merrill Lynch predicted the company may post a quarterly loss.
