CBRE appoints social value lead

CBRE has appointed Sophia Cox as social value lead in its environmental consultancy business.

Previously a sustainability adviser at the UK Green Building Council, Cox will be responsible for growing CBRE’s social value service line for the UK business. This will include overseeing the provision of social value services for clients and quantifying the social value delivered.

At the UKGBC, Cox led the Social Value Programme, creating industry guidance and providing learning materials on social value in the built environment. She also led the UKGBC’s Climate KIC-funded Foreground Programme, which supports local authorities taking a leadership role in local development.

Julie Townsend, head of environmental consultancy at CBRE, said: “There is an increasing need for reliable and repeatable metrics around the ‘S’ in ESG. The addition of Sophia to our environmental consultancy team will allow us to enhance this capability, solidifying our commitment to providing expert and holistic environmental consultancy advice to our clients, whilst making a more positive impact on the communities in which they are a part.”
