CBRE Capital Advisors has appointed Julian Allen as head of real estate investment banking across EMEA.

Allen joins from Citigroup, where he has been managing director and head of the EMEA real estate and lodging group since 2014 and replaced Tim Ryan.
Ryan, who joined CBRE Capital Advisors in 2015, is relocating to Australia.
Allen, who takes up the role in September, will work alongside Benjamin Rouah, head of real estate investment banking, continental Europe, to capitalise on opportunities available in the market with a particular focus on M&A and other corporate finance opportunities. He will also have executive responsibility for CBRE’s Equity Placement and PropertyMatch businesses in the UK.
Richard Dakin, managing director and head of Capital Advisors, said: “Our real estate investment banking capabilities have grown enormously over the past few years under Tim Ryan’s leadership, and it’s an area where we see significant further growth potential as we increase our expertise in different sectors of the market.
“Clients increasingly want access to operating platforms and businesses, as well as the underlying real estate assets, across a variety of different real estate asset classes. Our expertise in identifying and executing these more complex mandates sets us apart from our competitors. The strength of our capital markets offering, combining an innate understanding of the global real estate markets with comprehensive financial capabilities, means we are expertly placed to advise clients on the most creative solutions and optimal outcomes.”
Allen added: “CBRE is the worldwide leader in real estate services. It has a clear ambition to continue building its investment banking capabilities in EMEA, and I am excited to be joining CBRE at such a promising time in the development of its advisory platform.”
