CBRE hires new UK corporate ESG head

CBRE has appointed Lesley Holloway as head of corporate ESG for its UK and Ireland advisory business.

Holloway joins from NatWest Group, where she was responsible for the bank achieving net zero carbon for its own operations in 2020 and becoming climate positive in 2022. She also developed the bank’s long term Net Zero 2050 strategy.

Prior to that, she served as head of services sustainable development at ABN Amro.

Holloway will develop and lead the delivery of CBRE’s ESG strategy and programme across the UK and Ireland, working to support a range of environmental, social and wellbeing targets, including achieving net zero in its operations and supply chain by 2030.

Allan Wickham, CBRE’s head of occupier ESG, said: “Lesley brings 20 years’ experience leading high-performing teams to deliver positive climate impacts in global financial services organisations. Her appointment enhances the significant sustainability expertise within our business and broadens our ability to provide a best-in-market service to our clients, ensuring we are outperforming on ESG in our own operations and leading the industry by example.”

Holloway will join CBRE’s 100-plus strong team of ESG consultancy experts, and is the second big name to be added in the past week. Last week CBRE announced it had hired former UK Green Building Council chief executive Julie Hirigoyen as a special adviser to the UK sustainability and ESG consultancy team.
