CBRE Investment Management has appointed Chris Burgess as head of ESG for indirect real estate.
In his new role, Burgess will focus on implementing and delivering CBRE IM’s sustainability vision across the firm’s global indirect investments by working closely with the consultancy’s investment management teams.
Burgess joins from consultancy Evora Global, where he was responsible for developing ESG strategies for international real estate investment companies. Since 2007 he has spent his career in the sustainability space, including working on development practices across infrastructure and real estate construction projects for engineering consultancy Arup.
Helen Gurfel, head of sustainability and innovation at CBRE IM, said: “Chris brings valuable experience as we continue to integrate and deliver our sustainability strategy across our indirect investments.
“From monitoring and evaluating our performance against tough environmental objectives to completing sustainability projects, he will work with colleagues across the entire business as we look to fulfil our goals.”
