CBRE recruits JLL data centres director

CBRE has appointed JLL director Hugo Jack as a new director for its data centre solutions team, along with three more junior hires from the agency.

Jack worked at JLL for more than six years, joining as an associate director in 2014 before becoming a director in 2019.

He has joined CBRE’s data centre solutions site transactions team alongside a senior surveyor. Associate director Oscar Matthews has meanwhile joined the data centre team’s capital markets division, and a graduate has joined its research team.

The quartet joins associate director Katie Hoggarth, who left JLL for a role with CBRE’s data centre site transactions team in September last year.

Andrew Jay, head of EMEA data centre solutions at CBRE, said: “Across EMEA we have seen a phenomenal increase in the demand for data centres, principally driven by cloud companies. In line with client demand, we are continuing to grow our data centres team across all functions.”

The hires come a month after JLL appointed CBRE director Tom Glover as its new EMEA head of data centre transactions and Mike Harrington, formerly head of facilities management at CBRE’s Asia-Pacific arm, as head of data centre facilities management for EMEA.

Additionally, Knight Frank recruited CBRE data centre solutions director Ben Stirk last month, joining as a partner and co-head of global data centres.
