CBRE retains Liverpool crown

Slowing deal volumes failed to shake CBRE in the EGi Liverpool office league as it transacted more space than the next six agents combined. Alexander Peace reports

Despite slowing activity in the Liverpool office market, CBRE comfortably took the top spot for the third year in a row, acting on more than twice the number of deals of runner up DTZ.

After a booming 12 months in 2013/14, the market last year saw a shift towards lower deal numbers and considerably smaller lot sizes, with deals down by 21%, and floorspace transacted fell by 43%.

CBRE was one of only two agents to near or beat last year’s deal volumes, although its activity was still down by 11% – and was significantly boosted by the 75,000 sq ft sale of The Department building on Ranelagh Street, on which it jointly acted with DTZ.

Without the Ranelagh Street deal, market activity would have been down by more than 50%.
