CBRE streamlines real estate services business

CBRE Group is restructuring two of its real estate services businesses, bringing them under a single leadership.

Chief operating officer Vikram Kohli will assume direct oversight of CBRE’s advisory services and global workplace solutions divisions. As a result of the restructure, GWS chief executive Chandra Dhandapani will leave the business.

CBRE said advisory services chief executive Jack Durburg will now exclusively lead the US and Canada advisory business, while Chris Kirk, who has served as chief operating officer of advisory, will lead the international advisory business. Both will report to Kohli. Senior team members who had reported to Dhandapani will also report directly to Kohli.

The two divisions will continue to be reported as separate segments.

CBRE chair and chief executive Bob Sultenic said: “Vikram joined us in our India brokerage business in 2001 and since then he has excelled in key roles across multiple geographies.

“He is a compelling leader with an exceptional level of strategic, financial and digital capability. Our advisory and GWS segments, both of which lead their respective sectors globally, will be more connected, leaner and better positioned to deliver superior integrated client solutions under his leadership.”

Dhandapani joined CBRE in 2016 as chief digital & technology officer, initially tasked with spearheading the agent’s digital transformation. She has since held a number of roles across the business, including chief administrative officer.
