FINANCE: UK commercial property returned 1.6% during September, according to the latest CBRE Monthly Index.
The uplift was driven mainly by a rise in capital values, which grew by 1.2% over the month – taking capital value growth for the year to date to 9.4%.
However, rental values also showed signs of improving across all sectors, with a 0.3% rise in September, the strongest rate since December 2008.
Industrials provided the highest growth at 2%, followed by offices at 1.9%.
Commercial property has returned 14.3% year-to-date, already exceeding the full-year return for last year. Midtown offices generated the highest returns so far this year at 20.8%.
