LISTEN: The new owner of Las Iguanas plans to grow the chain to almost five times its current size.
In an interview with Estates Gazette chief executive of Casual Dining Group, Steve Richards, said it had potential for 200 restaurants in the UK. It currently has only 41.
“Las Iguanas complements our growth plan with Bella Italia,” he said.
CDG, which bought the chain for around £85m, also owns 90 Bella Italia restaurants and is aiming to add another 100 to the portfolio by 2020. The group also has 95 Café Rouges and five Belgos.
Las Iguanas was sold by private equity owners Bowmark Capital and CDG, previously known as Tragus, fought off competition from Equistone, ECI, Graphite and Bridgepoint Capital.
