CdP acquires Essex and Surrey logistics sites

Specialist investor Compagnie du Parc (CdP) has bought two industrial sites in Barking, Essex, and Egham, Surrey, in a bid to expand its presence within the M25.

The Luxembourg-based group has acquired a 16,509 sq ft single-let industrial space at 638 Ripple Road in Barking, and a multi-let 20,022 sq ft unit at Essence House, Thorpe Industrial Estate in Egham.

The deals bring its UK portfolio to 282,000 sq ft across nine sites with a collective value of around £40m.

The deals come after CdP announced £80m of capital for investment in warehouses in the UK.

Jonathan Coenca, managing director of CdP, said: “Our acquisitions in Barking and Surrey build on our portfolio and demonstrate the rate at which we can execute on deals that meet our criteria of being in close proximity to urban areas within greater London.

“As the online economy goes from strength to strength, and more and more people shop online, there has been a surge in occupier demand in the ‘last mile’ delivery sector.”
