Cedar Dean founder to chair CTA committee

The Commercial Tenants Association has appointed Cedar Dean Group founder David Abramson to chair its policy committee and advisory board.

Abramson founded Cedar Dean in 2007. He joins as head of policy at the membership organisation.

The association, which represents more than 900,000 commercial occupiers in the UK, said he has been “particularly vocal” in the call for commercial lease reform over the past decade.

Peter Bell, chief executive of the CTA, said Abramson has been a “close supporter” of the association from its infancy.

Bell said: “His passion and commitment to championing the rights of commercial tenants is relentless, and I have no doubt his knowledge and expertise will help support our ambitious growth.”

Abramson said: “With the CTA’s credentials and rapidly growing presence and influence, we have the unique opportunity to transform the long-imbalanced relationship between landlord and tenant.

“I intend to bring together leading voices across the industry to finally achieve a new system for commercial leasing based on affordability.”
