Center Parcs has scrapped plans to develop a sixth UK holiday village near Gatwick airport.
The Brookfield-owned leisure company dropped the plans after completing an environmental survey of the 553-acre site at Oldhouse Warren, near Crawley.
It had secured an option to acquire the woodland site in July 2021 and had planned to spend between £350m and £400m creating a 900-lodge venue.
Center Parcs chief executive Colin McKinlay said: “We have always been committed to only building our villages in areas where we can improve the biodiversity of the site.”
