Centros Miller – the retail JV between Miller Developments and Delancey Estates – is tipped to be Simons Estates’ new funding partner on Swansea’s Castle Quays.
The news emerged after Miller Developments received consent to reconfigure its Co-op retail unit opposite Castle Quays.
However, Paul Ellis of the council’s adviser Donaldsons, denied the rumour: “The council has not made any decision. We’re starting discussions with credible partners next week. Centros Miller would be a credible partner, but so would 12 or so other companies.”
Ellis did confirm the council has been talking to Miller Developments, but only about the Co-op.
Lester Hampson, managing director of Centros Miller, confirmed interest in the 36,045 sq m (338,000 sq ft) Castle Quays, he said: “We’re interested in Castle Quays. We’ve not met the council yet but are planning to in the next couple of weeks.”
In a shock move last month, Simons` previous funding partner MEPC pulled the plug on its involvement in Castle Quays.
