Chameleon Pub Company buys Greaves Park in Lancaster

North of England-based pub operator Chameleon Pub Company has bought the long leasehold of Greaves Park in Lancaster, Lancashire, from Whitbread.

The guide price for Greaves Park was £850,000.

The Grade II- listed pub, which originally traded as a Brewers Fayre until it was refurbished as a Table Table more than two years ago, is held on a 999-year lease from February 1996 at a peppercorn rent.

It is situated in parkland and includes a number of private dining rooms, beer garden and staff accommodation.

Chameleon Pub Company currently operates six pubs.

Greaves Park is part of a package of four pubs, which Whitbread brought to the market last August. The Nevill Crest & Gun near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, also part of the package, was sold to Brunning & Price last November.

Chris Ford, partner at Gerald Eve, which advised Whitbread, said: “After our sale of Nevill Crest & Gun at the end of last year to Brunning and Price, part of The Restaurant Group, we were very pleased to see another up and coming pub group buy Greaves Park.

“This is further evidence that pub companies are once again getting more active in the market and seeking out good freehold and long leasehold opportunities.”

Christie + Co also advised Whitbread.
