Chancellor puts pressure on UK firms to leave Russia

The chancellor is putting more pressure on British companies that maintain links with Russia.

Rishi Sunak said yesterday that they should “think very carefully” about their investments there, adding that there was “no case for new investment in Russia”.

Sunak said: “We must collectively go further in our mission to inflict maximum economic pain – and to stop further bloodshed.”

The chancellor and John Glen, the City minister, met UK asset managers last week to discuss British investments in Russia.
