Chancerygate hires investment and asset management boss

Chancerygate has appointed Simon Cowley from M7 Investment Group to lead its investment and asset management operations.

The move comes as the company explores expansion opportunities on the Continent.

In his new role, Cowley will focus on driving the strategy and performance of Chancerygate’s existing joint ventures, identifying and developing new investor partnerships and growing assets under management.

Chancerygate’s current jv partnerships for urban logistics developments include specialist sustainability and impact investor Bridges Fund Management and real estate private equity firm Northwood Investors.

The company currently manages more than £385m of assets across over 5m sq ft of commercial space in more than 480 facilities. It also currently has around 2.65m sq ft of urban logistics space under construction or ready for development across 19 sites ranging from Chichester to Edinburgh.

At M7 Investment Group Cowley was responsible for fund strategy and performance in the UK and European industrial and urban logistics sector. Before that, he held senior roles at CBRE Asia Pacific and ICG.

Richard Bains, managing director at Chancerygate, said: “We have ambitious plans for the investment and asset management team in both the UK and as part of our European growth strategy.

“Simon will be instrumental in delivering this. He brings his wealth of investment experience operating at senior levels in the UK, Europe and APAC, and provides a complementary skill set to that already within the company.”
